Club History
Curtin Game Development Club was founded as a Curtin Student Guild-affiliated club in 2020, dedicated to supporting budding game developers at Curtin University. Over the years, CGDC has strived to create a safe and welcoming space for all those interested in making video games, through regular events such as Weekly Meetups and, beginning in 2022, the annual inter-club collaboration tradition of Pitch Jam. Since 2023, the club has also had a regular presence at Pixel Expo, where club members have the opportunity to showcase their game demos for the public to play.
Committee Hall of Fame
The activities of CGDC would of course not have been possible without the leadership and teamwork of our dedicated club committees.

Our Club Mascot: Games the Snail
Our club mascot, Games (pronounced like "James") has been a core part of the club since 2020. Featured prominently in our club logo and promotional material, Games represents the slow and unusual process of game development. The construction helmet implies some colossal project being built, his shell carries the letter 'G' for Games (both his name and what he represents), and of course, he tends to project an almost unplaceable facial expression, somewhere between mild amusement and sheer boredom, much like another artistic icon - the Mona Lisa.
